Nixon Preschool Teacher Profiles



~ Director/Teacher (M/W/F) ~
Jennifer McCall

Mrs. McCall graduated from Slippery Rock University in December of 2004
with a BS in Elementary Education and with a certification in Early Childhood Education. 
Along with the Pennsylvania State Teaching Certificate, she holds a certification
to teach private academic schools (pre-k through 6th grade).  Before coming to Nixon,
Mrs. McCall taught pre-school at Lifesteps (working with children between the
ages of 2 and 5). She has been actively involved in tutoring and after
school programs in school districts in our surrounding area. 

~ Teacher (T/TH) ~
Diana Skurka

Diana Skurka graduated from Indiana University of PA in 1994
with a BS in Elementary Education. Before coming to Nixon Preschool she worked
locally in the area of social work. She then relocated with her husband
to Connecticut, where she taught elementary school in the public school system.
 
Diana has been back in the Butler Area since 2005
and has since been enjoying time at home with her two young children.  

~ Assistant Teacher (Tuesday/Thursday) ~
Michele Baker

Mrs. B, mother of three children, has been the Director of the Nixon United
Methodist Church's childrens choir.  She has also been a Sunday School and
Vacation Bible School teacher, including directing the VBS program.

Mrs. B is also very actively involved in the Parent Teacher Organization of the
South Butler County School District.
 

~ Assistant Teacher (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) ~
Barbara McCormick

Barbara McCormick is the mother of three grown children.  She is active in her church
and her experience includes being a Sunday School teacher, a youth group leader,
and a Vacation Bible School teacher and director.  She has been a Cub Scout den leader
and served as an officer on the scouting board.  For many years Barbara was actively
involved in the Parent Teacher Organizations of the Butler Area School District
and for seven years was a volunteer for the Butler Marching Band Parent Organization.
